OKATEM (Centre of Excellence in Wireless and Optical Communication Technologies), under the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EE) at Özyeğin University, invites applicants for master’s or doctorate positions, offering applicants an exciting opportunity to join research projects with a focus on the development of the next-generation communication systems. We work in an international and multi-disciplinary setting on projects that integrate the expertise of different academic/industrial partners in terrestrial, non-terrestrial and underwater environments on optical wireless communication, radio frequency, and acoustic communication reconfigurable intelligent surfaces, etc. OKATEM is Turkey’s first R&D center specialized in the area of wireless and optical communications established with the financial support from Istanbul Development Agency (ISTKA). OKATEM is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to carry out fundamental and applied research in wireless and optical communication systems operating at infrared, visible or ultraviolet bands. With participation from six universities, six companies and one NGO, OKATEM aims to position Turkey as a leading country in this emerging technology area.
CT&T (Communication Theory and Technology) Research Group conducts fundamental and applied research on the physical layer aspects of communication systems. Current research projects address physical layer design of wireless communication systems at FR1, FR2, FR3, visible light communications, free-space optical communications, ultraviolet communications, underwater communications, and vehicular networking , among others.
Further information about the position may be obtained from the executive director of OKATEM, Assistant Professor Cagatay Edemen(email: cagatay.edemen@ozyegin.edu.tr)
