Looking forward to our panel talk “Resilience-Case studies on tools and challenges” at this exciting climate change conference this Thursday (Nov 3rd), organized by Guy Carpenter, Marsh and the Insurance Federation of Egypt. During our panel, we will talk about the role of insurance in building resilience to climate related natural catastrophe risks through some case studies. One of our team members Fidence Rukundo, whom I am supervising together with Dr. Yiğit Can Altan, has recently presented our work on “REGIONAL FLOOD LOSS MODELLING OF THE TOWN OF BOZKURT IN KASTAMONU, TURKEY” at the 4th IWA Regional Conference on Diffuse Pollution and Eutrophication, held in Istanbul. Two presentations at the 2022 ICONHIC Conference
I and my MS student Bugra recently gave two great presentations at the #ICONHIC – International Conference on Natural Hazards and Infrastructure held in Athens, Greece. Thanks to support of my Marie Sklodowska Curie Fellowship and my team, we presented on:
1) “Flood Performance Assessment of Masonry Buildings” by Y. Moaiyedfar and D. Deniz.
2) “Flood Loss and Retrofit Analyses for Single-Detached Dwellings” by A. B. Ceyhan and D. Deniz.
It was a very productive and engaging conference with many fruitful discussions, thanks to organizers. Also it was for sure great to see friends and meet new ones. Looking forward to next time to come together again!
