Our two journal papers have been recently accepted by two prestigous SCI-indexed journals: “Community Resilience-Focused Technical Investigation of the 2016 Lumberton, North Carolina Flood: An Interdisciplinary Approach“, accepted by ASCE-Natural Hazards Review. “The Effect of Triaxiality on Finite Element Deletion Strategies for Simulating Fracture in Full-Scale Steel Structures“, accepted by Engineering Structures.    

Dr. Derya Deniz recently gave a seminar for Academy of Continuing Education at Ozyegin University, entitled “Flood Resilience of Building Structures”. She explained importance of disaster resilience for Turkey and gave details on her on-going TUBITAK 2232 project ““Flood Damage, Economical Loss and Functionality Models for Critical Industrial Structures in Turkey”.   

Dr. Betuk Konukcu, a senior researcher at Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, visited us in the last week of December and gave a seminar for our CE547-Structural Reliability class.
